What could be a new music listening experience?

How can we make our devices more personalised ?

FUTUREAHEAD headset allows users to visualize their playlists and show relevant information about the songs they are listening to. Connect to preferred music service and stream yours favourite songs directly to the headset. The digital screens integrated into the design display the playlist or abstract images/videos that represent your mood, the rhythm of the music or the genre of the playlist.

INSPIRATION

The design takes inspiration from retro headsets, which typically featured a stylish and nostalgic aesthetic. My design task was to combine the retro look with modern technology and at the same time it was important to emphasise the functionality of the headphones. "Future Nostalgia" as a visual style became a source of inspiration for this project.

DIGITAL SCREENS

The screens automatically turn on as you wear the headphones.Open the companion app on smartphone and connect it to the headphones via Bluetooth. The app allows to control various features and settings of the headphones.

As the music starts playing, the screens on headphones display vibrant visualizations that sync with the rhythm and beats of the music. The immersive visual experience enhances enjoyment of the music.

HEADBAND

The headset features an adjustable headband that ensures a comfortable fit on the user's head. It may cushioning for enhanced comfort during prolonged use. The button located on the right side of the headband toggles the screens on and off. Pressing this button activates the LED panels, while pressing it again turns them off.

THE CUSHIONS

Leather cushions are attached to the headphones with magnets.

That allows you to replace them with new ones after long-term use.

USER SCENARIOS

Headphones with integrated screens provide a visually captivating experience by displaying dynamic and abstract images that represent the mood and genre of the music.The ability to access relevant information about the songs further enhances the listening experience and encourages music discovery. For example, it can be tags or lyrics that are broadcast in the screens.
